Frequently Asked Questions

1) Earth Rangers Membership

What does it mean to be an Official Earth Ranger?

When you signed up to become an Earth Ranger, you took a pledge to help protect animals and their homes. You joined a team of over 150,000 kids across Canada and promised to take action, and Earth Rangers is here to help. Whether it's completing animal-saving Missions or starting a Bring Back the Wild campaign, you have the power to make a difference!

Once your membership has been approved by a parent/guardian, it's time for your Earth Rangers journey to begin. Complete Missions, participate in Bring Back the Wild campaigns, and comment on the Wildwire Blog to level up - and earn awesome rewards as you go!

How much does it cost?

Earth Rangers membership is completely free! All costs associated with the administration of this program are covered by individual and corporate donations.

Earth Rangers also provides its members with the opportunity to make a difference for animals and their habitat through our Bring Back the Wild program. While fundraising is an important part of the Earth Rangers experience, it is not mandatory.

What do I do to become a member?

All Earth Rangers take a special pledge that shows their commitment to protecting animals and their homes. Once you’ve taken the pledge, your first Mission is to help protect an animal by starting a Bring Back the Wild campaign.

  1. To start your Bring Back the Wild campaign, click “Protect Animals” in the Navigation menu, take the Earth Rangers Pledge, choose the animal you’d like to protect, pick your goal and create your avatar.
  3. Fill out your information and the info of a parent or guardian on the sign up form. Make sure the email address you’ve entered is correct.
TIP: Don’t forget to write down your username and password! You’ll need this to login to your account.
  5. Before we can send you your membership card, your parent/guardian needs to activate your membership. Have them look for an email from Earth Rangers and click the “Activate Membership” button. This will take them to a form that they will need to fill out. Once they’ve submitted it, your membership is approved and you’ll get your card in the mail! This could take up to 8 weeks to deliver, but in the meantime you can download a temporary version by clicking the "Membership Card" button on your Profile.

If it's been more than 8 weeks since your parent has approved your membership registration, please contact us.

Can I get more than 1 membership card?

Unfortunately, only 1 membership card is allowed per child.

I lost my membership card. Can I get another one?

Yes. We will need your parent to contact us to request a new card. You must also include the username, Ranger ID, and parent’s email used to create the account.

What are the benefits of being an Official Earth Ranger?

Official Earth Rangers receive a special Earth Rangers membership package that includes a personalized membership card! Earth Rangers can participate in a Bring Back the Wild campaign and earn awesome rewards! As a member, you can also accept animal-saving Missions that you can do at home with your friends and family. You'll also earn awesome online rewards as you move through your Earth Rangers journey and level up by completing Missions, commenting on the blog, and participating in Bring Back the Wild campaigns. Pretty cool!

What are “animal-saving missions”?

Animal-saving missions are fun activities you can do at home and in your community to help protect animals everywhere. Working with your friends and family by planting a pollinator garden, recycling used batteries, or making homemade holiday cards are just a few of the ways you can help!

I’ve already registered on, but I haven’t received my membership card in the mail. What should I do next?

It can take up to 8 weeks to process and deliver your personalized Earth Rangers membership card, but you can download a temporary copy by clicking the "Membership Card" button on your Profile in the meantime.

Remember that in order to receive a membership card, your parent/guardian must approve your membership! Not sure if your membership has been approved yet? Try logging into your Hub and visiting the Missions tab - if you're not an approved member, you'll find a link to the approval form there that you can have a parent/guardian fill out to help you start your Earth Rangers journey!

2) Bring Back the Wild Rewards

Are the Bring Back the Wild Rewards sustainably sourced?

Here at Earth Rangers we try our best to make sure our rewards are sustainably sourced at all times. That's why rewards, like our new lanyards, are made using Recycled PET. Recycled PET containers are washed and re-melted into plasma, from which items can be crafted, like our lanyards! Our new rewards notebook is also sustainably sourced using recycled stock, this item is FSC certified and printed using vegetable inks.

We also locally source our reward items as much as possible, keeping in mind the impact of shipping throughout the whole process! Our Earth Rangers reward buttons are made in Canada, and our adorable plushies are made in the United States.

How do I claim my child’s rewards?

Once your child's campaign ends, you can expect to receive your rewards within 4-8 weeks. For campaigns that have reached the $150 level or higher, we'll send
an email asking for confirmation of your mailing address to the email provided upon registration. We cannot send out your child's rewards until we've received your confirmation. If you didn't receive the email to your Inbox, please check your Spam folders as our emails do sometimes get misdirected! Please contact us if you're still having trouble and we'd be happy to help.

How long does it take to receive my child’s rewards?

Rewards can take 4 – 8 weeks to reach you, but it’s often sooner. If your child has earned a trophy, please note that because these are handmade they often take a bit longer to complete and send. If you have a concern about your child’s reward shipment, please contact us.

3) Journey Rewards

How do I access my Journey Rewards?

Once you've levelled up and unlocked your journey rewards, you'll be able to download the wallpapers, ringtones, eBooks, and online games by clicking the Fun and Games tab on your Profile. What are Journey Rewards?

I’m having trouble downloading my wallpapers and ringtones. What should I do?

4) Virtual Badges and Achievement Wall

What are badges?

Badges are virtual tokens that represent your achievements as an Earth Ranger. Once you complete a Mission or reach another Earth Rangers milestone, a new badge will appear on your Badges and Achievement Wall, found underneath the Profile tab in your Hub. See how many badges you can earn!

How can I view my Achievement Wall?

You can view your Achievement Wall by going to your Profile tab when you're logged into your Hub. You'll see it at the bottom of the page.

Will I get an actual badge in the mail?

Unlike rewards, badges for your achievement wall are virtual and will not be sent in the mail.

How do I earn more badges?

You can earn a badge by completing Missions, starting a Bring Back the Wild campaign, commenting on the Wildwire Blog, and more! Check out the many possibilities on your Badges and Achievements Wall.

What happens if I don’t raise any funds for my campaign? Do I still earn a badge?

Yes, you do! Even if you don’t raise donations, you will still earn a badge for starting a Bring Back the Wild campaign.

5) Fundraising Support

We’d like to send you money – are there other ways to donate besides online?

If you are interested in raising donations offline, you can download a pledge sheet here. Use it to keep track of your donations and donor information. When you are done, you can submit any cheque donations and your pledge sheet to:

Bring Back the Wild
Attn: Program Coordinator
9520 Pine Valley Drive
Woodbridge, ON L4H 4Z2

Please be sure to include your child's Ranger ID and username on your pledge sheet as it helps us to process it once it arrives to us.

Important to note: If you are submitting a cheque on behalf of donors who require tax receipts, please be sure to include a note on the memo line of your cheque that indicates the funds raised are “On behalf of donors”. This allows us to issue tax receipts to the donors listed on your pledge sheet. Note that we are unable to process tax receipts for donors who do not provide their full names and mailing address information.

I need a copy of my tax receipt for the donation I made.

Please contact us with the following information and we can provide you with a copy:

  1. The first and last name of the donor
  2. The email address entered for the donation
  3. The date the donation was made
  4. The member (Ranger ID, username) to whom the donation was made

What are some ideas for ways I can raise donations?

There are many different ways you can raise donations to help with your campaign including hosting your own bake sale, a lemonade stand or even a yard sale! Need some ideas? Check out the Fundraising Toolkit to get started. You’ll even be able to download helpful materials for your campaign!

What other things can I do to help besides just raising donations?

There are little things you can do around your house or neighborhood to help the environment and animals.  Click here to read some tips on what you can do to help, or check out our animal-saving Missions for more ideas!

We can look for your donation and find out why it’s not showing up.

6) Birthdays

How do birthdays work?

To find out how our birthday program works, and what’s included, click here.

How long in advance does a parent/guardian need to register for a Bring Back the Wild birthday?

We need time to process your registration and send out your birthday kit. Typically, we ask parents/guardians to register 4 weeks in advance of your party. If you want to register, but are concerned that it’s too close to your party date, please contact us and we can discuss alternate options.

7) Earth Rangers Account

We would like our account deleted.

Please contact us with the email address the account is setup under and we will delete it for you.

We don’t remember our password

If you have forgotten your password, click here to retrieve your password via email.
If you are still having trouble, please contact us.

How do we change our fundraising goal?

You can change your goal at any time during your campaign. In order to change your goal, simply login to your Hub, click the donation thermometer on your Bring Back the Wild tab, and select your new goal. You can find more information about using your Bring Back the Wild donation page here.

What happens if my child doesn’t reach their goal?

There’s never an obligation to fundraise. Your child will still receive rewards if they have reached a reward level, regardless of whether they reached the goal they selected for themselves. If they surpass their goal, they will receive the rewards for whatever level they reach.

How do I change the animal I selected?

You can only have one active animal campaign under your account at a time. You aren’t able to change your animal yourself until your current animal campaign is finished.

If I start a Bring Back the Wild campaign, how much time do I have to fundraise? What if I need more time?

When you start a Bring Back the Wild campaign, you are given 4 weeks (30 days) to reach your goal. We need to put a time-limit on the campaigns in order to process the rewards. We have tried to choose a time-frame that works best for most kids.

If you need more time with your campaign, that’s not a problem at all – it can be extended! When your campaign expires after 30 days and you try to visit your Donation Page, you’ll be given the option to extend your campaign. Or, you can contact us with the email address the account is set up under, and how much longer you’d like for the campaign.
