Whooping cranes have been known to fly for 10 hours<\/strong>, covering distances of up to 750 kilometers<\/strong>! They use a special combination of spiraling and gliding that keeps their energy usage to a minimum. If you’ve never seen a whooping crane in flight, look up at the sky and keep your eyes peeled because they are making a come back. Although these birds are endangered, their populations have been climbing since 1967 in part because of conservation efforts in Canadian and America.
