Meet the Statonic leaf-tailed gecko (Uroplatus phantasticus)<\/em>; well we\u2019d introduce you if we could find him! This reptile is a master of disguise<\/a>; they stay hidden even as they roam the rainforests of Madagascar<\/a> looking for tasty insects<\/a> to eat.<\/p>\n

This reptile blends in<\/a> by looking like a dried up leaf, if that wasn\u2019t sneaky enough the leaf-tailed gecko can also flatten its body against the ground. If a determined predator<\/a> is still able to snag this gecko they can always voluntarily shed their tail to escape.<\/p>\n
