The\ngreenhouse effect is MAJORLY to blame for climate change, <\/strong>and that is\nbecause greenhouse gases like CO2<\/sub> or carbon dioxide, are being\nreleased into the atmosphere. The sun also shines down on us through the\natmosphere and then hits the earth giving us that much needed warmth and\nenergy. BUT, sometimes those sneaky greenhouse gases in the atmosphere can trap\nsome of the sun\u2019s energy and this is what causes the temperature on Earth to\nrise. This increased temperature affects everything on earth, especially many\nhabitats where animals live which makes it harder for them to adapt and\nsurvive! So, the more energy we use in our homes, the more energy the planet\nneeds to produce, and the more greenhouse gases that can be produced as well\nwhich we now know are a big contributor to climate change. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We can see evidence of this greenhouse gas\neffect and climate change in places like the Arctic, where the sea ice is\nmelting due to the warming temperatures and this sadly, has had a negative\nimpact on a lot of animals such as the polar bear. They rely on these huge ice\nsheets to hunt for seals but as the ice melts it is becoming much more\ndifficult for them to find food and survive. This isn\u2019t only affecting the\nanimals on land either, with more space opening in these waters due to lack of\nice sheets, more large boats have access and can add chemical pollution to the\nwaters as well as noise pollution. These are currently starting to be\nused more around the world to reduce pollution, slow down climate change and to\nhelp reduce the pressure on the planet\u2019s resources, and you have probably seen\nwhere these renewable energies come from! Maybe you were driving somewhere with\nyour family and noticed those tall windmills or wind turbines which use the\nwind to spin their blades and in turn this powers a generator to create\nelectricity! Or maybe even your own family has solar panels on the roof of your\nhouse, which harness solar energy or the energy from the sun and convert it to\nelectricity that people can use to power their homes! This is one of the cleanest\nsources of energy as it produces no pollutants at all! Pretty incredible\ntechnology right?
