We Canadians are known for our kindness and hospitality, and as Earth Rangers we know that applies to all creatures, human and otherwise! So like good hosts, let\u2019s build a butterfly snack bar to help our fluttering friends have everything they need as they get get ready for their long journey south for the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First prepare your buffet\u2019s main course:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Mash up a banana and put it into a saucepan.<\/li>
  2. Add in \u00bd cup of dark brown sugar and 1 cup of water.<\/li>
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring every couple of minutes. Once it\u2019s gotten sticky, but still runny, remove it from the heat and let it cool.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Now build your serving platter:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Punch 3 holes around the edge of a paper plate (our favourites are the compostable ones). Spread them evenly so the plate hangs nice and flat.<\/li>
    2. Tie a piece of string to each one of the holes<\/li>
    3. Tie the strings together with a knot at the top and hang it outside. Be sure to choose a place close to flowers!<\/li>
    4. Drizzle your mixture onto the plate, adding some cut fruit or fresh flowers.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
