Temperatures are dropping and many of the birds that call\nthe north home are saying \u201csee ya!\u201d, heading down south for warmer weather.\nMust be nice! But in order to make this long journey, they need safe spaces to\nrest, plus plenty of food to give them the energy they need to keep going.\nUnfortunately there are times when some birds have trouble finding enough food\nto eat \u2013 and that\u2019s where you come in! Will you lend a helping feather?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did you know that Canada is home to millions of\nmigratory birds? Every spring and fall the shores of Lake Ontario welcome\nhundreds of thousands of birds as they make their way to and from their final\ndestinations. They often arrive hungry and exhausted after a long flight, but\nthanks to the Flyway Habitat Project, they get to come back to an amazing\nmigratory bird habitat! The Ash Grove cement plant on Lake Ontario\u2019s shoreline\npartnered with Credit Valley Conservation to create habitats full of woodland\ntrees and shrubs, thickets full of juicy berries, peaceful meadow and grassland\nareas hopping with insects, and cozy new birdhouses for a ton of different bird\nspecies. This awesome habitat has everything migratory birds need to rest and\nrefuel, but their journey doesn\u2019t end there \u2013 that\u2019s why it\u2019s so important you help\nthem along right from your own backyard!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
