There\u2019s something\nincredibly peaceful about wandering under a lush canopy of emerald green, with\na thick carpet of moss, leaves and twigs crunching under your feet. The air is\nclean, the breeze is filled with birdsong, and creatures are scurrying all\naround you (even if you can\u2019t see them). But whether its tropical, temperate,\nor boreal, there\u2019s a few things you should know about forests:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide\" style=\"grid-template-columns:40% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/Grant-livingforestslandscape-grandprize.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-52111\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.earthrangers.com\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/Grant-livingforestslandscape-grandprize.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.earthrangers.com\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/Grant-livingforestslandscape-grandprize-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>They clean our air by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen.&nbsp; Kind of like giant lungs for the planet!<\/li><li>They help prevent erosion.<\/li><li>They keep our water clean.<\/li><li>They provide essential products and good paying jobs to people all over the world. <\/li><\/ol>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><br>On March 21st, we celebrated the International Day of Forests, which reminds us about the important role that forests play in our daily lives. Other\nanimals, like leopards, owls and moths use trees for camouflage. &nbsp;Thousands of birds, squirrels and chipmunks\nbuild their nests in tree branches and trunks and Beavers use trees to build\ntheir lodges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But animals aren\u2019t the only ones who need forests.&nbsp; People all over the world depend on forests for\nrecreation, for jobs, for food, and for the products that we use every day.
