We all have a favourite outdoor space.\nIt could be your backyard, the park, the school yard, or even just that small\ntree you like to sit under. Now, would it surprise you to learn that the\noutdoor space you love is probably part of an Indigenous Traditional Territory\n(or three!)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indigenous Peoples were the original people to call this land home, and they\u2019ve been the caretakers and guardians of it for thousands of years. We can learn a lot about how to protect the planet by looking at the work done by Indigenous conservation groups, including the Indigenous Guardians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this Mission, we want you to learn how Indigenous Guardians care for the planet, and then use that knowledge to look after your own greenspace.<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To complete this Mission, you must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Read through the Mission Brief\nto learn how Indigenous Guardians take care of their land.<\/li>
  • Pick a greenspace and learn\nwhat Traditional Indigenous Territories it\u2019s on.<\/li>
  • Take action to protect and care\nfor your greenspace.<\/li>
  • Share your greenspace and what\nyou\u2019ve learned with someone close to you.<\/li>
  • When you\u2019re done, tell us about\nyour Mission in the App. Don\u2019t forget to share a picture!<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
