It would not be an understatement to say she\u2019s gone through a lot. Exploring the attic, Emma discovers a mysterious journal inside, a diary of records made by none other than the famous \u2013 but missing &#8211; conservationist Adelia Goodwin! Eager to use the journal as a clue, Emma jumped into her plane Bessy and set out to her first destination: Sri Lanka.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>But she wasn\u2019t alone\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"height:6px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Sonic, the stowaway sidekick!<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Hiding aboard Bessy was none other than Sonic, the barn owl!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having no choice but to bring him along, Emma would soon discover how useful her animal companion was to her journey when he helped her to retrieve Adelia\u2019s journal after it got stolen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"350\" src=\"\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/sonic_european_barn_owl-e1677594921742.jpg\" alt=\"Sonic the European barn owl\" class=\"wp-image-17946\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.earthrangers.com\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/sonic_european_barn_owl-e1677594921742.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.earthrangers.com\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/sonic_european_barn_owl-e1677594921742-300x263.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.earthrangers.com\/EN\/CA\/wp-content\/uploads\/sonic_european_barn_owl-e1677594921742-150x131.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\"><strong>A test above the clouds<\/strong> <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">While she doesn\u2019t have wings like Sonic, Emma could fly Bessy. And yet, her highest point ever reached is by climbing! The Himalayas proved to be her greatest test yet. To show she was not a thief who had stolen Adelia\u2019s journal, Emma had to prove herself in a test of knowledge. Through this, she gained her greatest ally: Nepal-based environmentalist, Dr. Juliette Giri &#8211; snow leopard expert &#8211; and Adelia Goodwin superfan. Together, Juliette and Adelia researched snow leopards, that is\u2026 up until Adelia\u2019s mysterious disappearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Under Dr. Giri\u2019s guidance, Emma explored the mountains for more clues &#8211; and eventually stumbled upon Adelia\u2019s writing in a cave. But there was one little problem\u2026 Bessy\u2019s GPS malfunctioned, forcing Emma to crash land in the Namib desert! The two quickly became close friends, eagerly setting off to help animals in danger not long after they reached the campsite. And yet, strange mysteries seemed to tie to Nyah. Emma\u2019s friend had an odd serpent tattoo, one not too unlike the carving on a box dropped from a passing Jeep. Just what was this key for? Why did the serpent match Nyah\u2019s tattoo? Was Emma in danger? Tired and in need of some rest, Emma is pointed to a research cabin\u2026 one that is locked! With no other key but the one she found, Emma tested the serpent\u2019s key on the door, and it opens! What does this mean?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">That next morning, Emma explores the research cabin a little more, stumbling across the biggest clue yet: Another journal!
