Hey Earth Rangers, Verna here! I\u2019m a green frog, and I\u2019m excited to show you my habitat: a river!<\/p>\n\n\n

Rivers are amazing! They\u2019re full of living creatures. Fish, mammals, and amphibians (like me) all call rivers home. But rivers are important to people, too! They provide freshwater for drinking, washing, and farming. Oh, and we can\u2019t forget that rivers are the best places for canoeing, swimming, and just having fun!<\/p>\n\n\n

Sometimes the trash that people leave on the ground ends up on the shore or in the river. That\u2019s a BIG problem for animals like me! We can get tangled up in it or hurt by sharp objects. And have you seen garbage? It\u2019s so colourful! It looks like a tasty treat to us. But if we eat it, it can make us really<\/em> sick!  <\/p>\n\n\n

Keeping the water clean is super important. That\u2019s why I\u2019m so<\/em> excited about the Shoreline Saver Mission!  When you accept this Mission, you\u2019ll learn all about how to have a safe litter clean up with your friends (and some helpful grownups). It\u2019s a great way for you to protect a river near your home.<\/p>\n\n\n
