Did you know that belugas are covered in a thick layer of fat called blubber that makes up 40% of their total body weight? This special adaptation helps them stay warm in icy Arctic waters and also stores energy for when food is hard to find.<\/p>\n\n\n

Do the beluga whale wash!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We might not live in the Arctic, but we can still take a page from the beluga\u2019s book by embracing cold water, especially when doing our laundry! Heating water accounts for nearly 90% of the energy used in a single load. That adds up to a lot of greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n
