Manning the Mangroves

13

Mangroves are beautiful forests that grow in the salty and brackish waters of the tropics. They are disappearing at a rapid pace and more than one in six species are at risk of extinction.

The major threats to mangroves include logging, climate change, and basic human interference (you could say that we’re “man’ning” the mangroves…get it?). Anyway, as we continue to develop coastlines, we will continue to lose the ecosystems that tons of diverse animals and plants call home.
