Deep in the forests of Borneo, lives one of the rarest species of otter: the Hairy-nosed Otter (Luthra sumatrana). It so shy that it hasn’t been spotted since 1997!

In 1997, this super shy otter went for a a midnight stroll in the forest reserve of Deramakot and got caught on camera. Such a sighting reminds us that endangered species like this can still be saved from extinction by doing things like protecting its forest home.
