Owls have amazing night-vision. Do you know why? One of the reasons is that their big, EPIC eyes have way more rods than ours do. Rods are special cells that let us see things in low light. The more rods someone has, the better they can see in the dark.

Can you spot the light like an owl
Owls don’t need light to see, but we do! And keeping things bright can use a lot of electricity. When that electricity is made by burning fossil fuels, it can directly impact the planet. It creates a lot of greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change.

Every smart owl knows that using less electricity helps save energy and cuts down on pollution! So, when you turn ON a light, be sure to turn it OFF when you’re done using it.

You can be the light patrol at home: make sure lights aren’t left on when no one’s using them. It’s a small job, but it makes a big difference!
Don’t forget to log this habit in the Act Like an Animal Challenge!
I wish I had eyesight like owls
I will remember to turn off the lights off
There eyesight and there no round eyes?
