Did you know that Arctic temperatures can plunge below -40°C (-40°F) during the winter? Brrr! That’s too cold for us, but polar bears don’t bat an eye. Thanks to two layers of fur and a thick layer of fat called blubber, they’re built to handle the chill.

Layer up like a polar bear!
Unlike our furry friends, we rely heavily on our thermostats for heating our homes. Unfortunately, cranking up the thermostat uses a lot of energy. That energy often comes from fossil fuels, which release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and contribute to climate change.

This winter, try channeling your inner polar bear. Instead of turning up the heat, throw on a sweater, layer up with some cozy socks, or wrap yourself in a warm blanket!

Don’t forget to log this habit in the Act Like and Animal Challenge!
