Help the planet, one bite at a time!

Everyone needs to eat, but did you know that what you eat can have an impact on the Earth? Our food is a big source of greenhouse gases. They are released by the tools we use to grow our food and the vehicles we use to bring it to stores. They even get released when farm animals burp!

When Greenhouse gases float into the atmosphere, they act like a big blanket around the Earth. This makes planet to warm faster than it should. That’s why it’s important to choose your food wisely.

But who can show us how it’s done?

RABBITS!

That’s right! Those soft, cuddly, garden-loving bunnies are green-snacking machines!

Rabbits eat what’s around them!

Rabbits love to munch on fresh veggies, leafy greens, and crunchy fruits. They keep their food local: it doesn’t come by truck, plane, or boat. And they keep it in-season: they aren’t eating raspberries and blueberries if it’s winter.

To be like a rabbit, you can pick fruits and veggies that grow near you (like apples in the fall or strawberries in the summer). Instead of the supermarket, visit a farmer’s market or garden and see what’s in season. If it looks like something a rabbit would chomp, you’re on the right track!

Rabbits LOVE plants!

By snacking like a rabbit, you’re helping the planet, one bite at a time!
