It’s my birthday, and I’m going to TURTLE DAY! In my town we have a lake and wetlands area called, and today there’s booth and activities set up to learn about and how to save the painted turtle!
I learned that painted turtles are in trouble because of predictors eating the eggs in the nests. Skunks ate almost all of the baby turtle eggs at the lake here, only 5 hatched out of lots and lots! I also learned that roadways , and cars and trucks are the biggest problem for painted turtles. They get killed on the roads!
