The spirit bear, also called the Kermode bear, lives in the Great Bear Rainforest on the coast of British Columbia. It’s a rare type of black bear with white fur and is an important part of the culture for the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast. It is also the provincial mammal of British Columbia.
